Dear Parents
In these abnormal times, it is advisable to create some normality and have some structure to the days. Children respond to a clear framework better than to an open-ended lifestyle and like to know what is expected from them.
For a great deal of their year they have a clear timetable and they know what it is. Until we get back to school I recommend a home-timetable for 6 days a week.
| Before 9 am | Wake, have breakfast and complete simple house chores. (time to learn the values of keeping things tidy, cleaning plates, etc) |
| 9 am –12 pm | School homework including quiet reading time. (important to complete a short book report when the storybook is finished. This can be passed to others so they know what the book is like). |
| 12 pm – 1 pm |
Lunch snack – simple salads made by themselves. |
| 1 pm – 3 pm | Thinking games and Youtube lessons. (time to use the internet for constructive play. See the list below as examples) |
| 3 pm – 5 pm | House task (time to learn how to run a house. How to keep things clean. How to do simple things – keep house plants, simple baking [with supervision]. Keep a budget [keep all receipts and make a record] help prepare a meal). |

Family time
(time to talk about the day, play games, exercise)

Relax time before bed This is a time when parents and teachers work together. |
Until my kids were about 15 we would go camping in a tent during the summer for 6 weeks. No computers, no Smartphones, and no TV. We soon came up with some great things to keep the kids occupied and happy. If anyone needs some ideas just contact me.
